Humankind in Space

Who are we?

The Space Engineering and Science Institute was formed to promote human exploration of space by bringing together researchers, explorers and students to develop and enhance the scientific and engineering visions required for space exploration and utilization.

Past Conference - Space Exploration 2005 was held in Albuquerque, NM, from Sunday, April 3 to Wednesday, April 6, 2005. It was composed of The First International Conference and Exposition on Engineering, Construction, Operation, Policy and Business in Space and The First Biennial Space Elevator Workshop.

The main themes of Space Exploration 2005 were: Alternative Space Access, Moon - Mars Habitability, and Space Policy.

Alternative Space Access addressed issues such as Space Elevator, Electric Propulsion, and Simultaneous On-orbit Mission Control.

Moon - Mars Habitability looked at Use of In-situ Resources, Bio Regenerative Systems, and Design of Base Interiors.

The Space Policy discussions considered issues of Space Law, Use of Resources, and Access to Remote Sensing Data by various governments around the world.

Our next conference will be held March 25 - 28, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM.
